Your FSA ID can be used each year to electronically apply for federal student aid and to access your Federal Student Aid records online. As long as you are claimed as a dependent, the guardian claiming you will need their own FSA ID as well as you needing your own.  Your FSA ID services as your electronic signature and provides access to your personal records, so you should never give your FSA ID to anyone, including commercial services that offer to help you complete your FAFSA.  Be sure to keep your FSA ID in a safe place.

You will receive a Student Aid Report from the college or university you plan to attend that will notify you of the money you qualify for.  Remember, the FAFSA is where you qualify for work study, scholarships, and loans...it's not just grants!  
Be sure to go into your on-line student account and accept all financial aid awards and complete all documents either mailed to you or downloadable in your on-line account.
