The Wind Ensemble is by audition only and made up of the best 35 musicians at GHS.  This band forms at the conclusion of Marching Band and competes in UIL.  This band performs standard and non-traditional wind band music.
The Symphonic Band is the 2nd concert band at GHS.  They perform music designed for fundamental development and that will allow the students who enjoy band, but can't commit the hours needed to keep up with the Wind Ensemble a place to perform.
The Jazz Orchestra is the Jazz band for GHS.  Students in this band have performed many of small engagement concerts and have entertained School Board members from across the State at the TASB Convention in Corpus Christi on several occasions.  This band also performs annually in the South Coast Jazz Festival.
